"He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything."

--Arabian proverb
Who doesn't like to live in a clean and hygienic place? We take the efforts to keep our house and our neighbourhood clean even if there is an option of shifting to a new place. If we can take the efforts of keeping temporary things clean, why can't we do the same with our body? Our body is the only place in which we will live forever till we die. Then why treat our body like a personal trashcan? It is often said that 'you are what you eat'. People who eat healthy; are healthy. Not only physically but also mentally. The food that you consume affects your mental health as well, for example, if you eat leafy vegetables your mind remains sharp and alert. However, there's more to a healthy lifestyle than just following a diet. Just like when cooking, a pinch of salt improves the taste, in a similar way a touch of exercise or yoga to your diet can help lead a better life.
BEING FIT IS NOT A DESTINATION, IT IS A WAY OF LIFE.

We observed quite a few similarities in the parents' answers. Most of the parents had about 5 to 8 members in their family and all of them lived together. The fathers of most the interviewees were the only earning member in the family and majority of the mothers were housewives. All the families, at the time, were situated in Mumbai. Only two of the parents recollect any historic events which they witnessed. The events and the reasons as to why they remember the said event are mentioned below:
All the parents had a nutritious diet which contained a lot of vegetables and fruits. Almost all the food was home cooked. Most of it was bought from the market, except in Mrs.Mishra's family. Her family grew most of their food on their farms and what wasn't grown was bought from the market. The diets in their times were completely nutritious since the concept of fast food wasn't as famous as it is now and the frequency of eating outside was very less. However it wasn't just the diet that made their life healthy. Sports and exercises played an important role. Most of the parents were involved in sports such as basketball, badminton and football at school. Along with their school keeping regular physical exercises once a week; they went to school either by walking or by cycling which proved to be an effective way of staying fit.
Another common opinion which all of them share is that all of them consider the lives of the current generations to not be healthy.
- Event: Assassination of prime minister Indira Gandhi.
- Event: Communal riots occurred in the locality.

The reasoning behind why today's lives are not as healthy.
We have analysed our surveys and concluded that there are some common points as to why the interviewees believe the lives of the current generation to be degrading in health. Reasons are given below:
- The food has degraded in nutritious value. Most of the families prefer eating in restaurants or fast food joints and not have home cooked food as they do not like to cook.
- Attention given to sports and extra-curricular activities has decreased considerably and the stress of academics has tremendously increased.
- One of the major culprits behind this downfall of health are drugs. Smoking, Drinking and doing drugs at a young age is considered to be 'cool' amongst the teenagers nowadays.
Comparisons between families of Europe and India
We have compared our conclusions to those made by Lyceum Oudehoven and Trinitas.

Our Experience
We have had a lot of fun being involved in this Eumind project. It has taught us on moving forward together as a team. When working in a team it is very important for everyone to have an open mind and be able to listen to the ideas which their teammates come up with. We are so glad that we were able to do so and work to give our best result. We have been able to interview mostly mothers or grandmothers and next time, it is a point we would like to improve and interview equal number of people of either gender. Our interviewees are from various fields of work allowing us to have a more broader spectrum of opinions.
Eumind has been a platform where we have learned a lot. Not only from our interviewees but also from the different schools which were involved in this project. We were introduced to different view points and opinions which increased our knowledge about health in general. This project has also allowed the current generation to be acquainted with their flaws and now that we know them, we can work towards improving. All in all eumind was a great experience and we would all love to be involved in another project soon.
