The grandparents had the biggest families. The parents and we have about thesame family members. In the past, the time of the grandparents, were the wifesmostly housewifes. Nowadays the wifes work aswell. Most of the parents left thecity where they were born. The events which happend in wars, were rememberedthe most by the grandparents. And we remember the things which had to do withterrorists and the IS, because that happend recently. In the past you did not have the schools werewe go nowadays. Some girls went to the housekeepingschool. They went to those schools mostly because of religion and how clever youwere. And the schools were mostly chosen by the parents. Most of us may chooseit by themselves. There was not a big di(erence between the religious and non religious schools.)*cept for that on a religious school you have the compulsory subject religiouseducation. The lessons per day stayed the same over all the generations. "ut over the yearsthere are much more extra activities arranged. )veryone went by bike to school. And some grandparents sometimes went by bus.At the time that the parents and grandparents were at school, the teachers keptsome distance between the students and them. "ut nowadays there is lessdistance. The punishments were about the same punishmetns; write lines or stay an hour afterclass. There is now much more e*tra coaching than in the time of the parents andgrandparent.)veryone we asked liked to go to school. "ecause the liked to see friends or theyliked to learn. we think we do not have to study harder nowadays, but most of theparents and grandparents think that the education is harder nowada
too bad, there was only one school that put their article online in time, so we had only one school to compare with.
In the Netherlands, the the relationship between the teacher and the students wasn’t that good, in India it was. We also discovered there were much more religious schools in the Netherlands compared to India. The jobs also differed a lot; in India, most grandparents were farmer, but in the Netherlands, a lot less. Grandparents in India all experienced a war, the War with Pakistan over disputed territory wof Kashmir, while in the Netherlands only a few grandparents experienced the second world war. Our grandparents tol dus there were not a lot of activities besides school, but in India there was. There were only a few similarities. One of them was that in India and the Netherlands, most of the wiman were housewifes. Also, fathers came from different professions. Last, but not least, the grandparents were on school for approximately the same time. Next up, we compare the parents from India and the Netherlands. There were quiet a lot of differences. For example, in India, everybody went to school by walking, while in the Netherlands, they went biking. This will probably be because there were no bikes in India back then. Also recognizable, was that the mothers were usually housewifes, just like the grandmothers, in India, but in the Netherlands wiman started to work more and the children and husbands started doing more housework. In India, the school rules were much more stricter then in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the did have extra-coaching, but in India they did not. We also discovered a few similarities. For example, the teachers had respect from the students in most of the cases. Students were also allowed to ask everything about their subject from the teachter. The most recognizable similarity was that both of the countries had schools which were selected on basis of the quality of education, which is still the case. Our conclusion is that most of the parents and grandparents in India and the Netherlands think that students nowadays need to work harder to get a good job, because nowadays a lot of jobs can only be done with a university education.
