Comparison
Grandparents
Both in India and the Netherlands boys and girls were equal but at school girls were inferior. Men also didn’t help in the household. All grandparents agree that woman are a lot more emancipated nowadays with the help of the government but not fully emancipated. They also all agreed that most woman did not work or only after marriage because they had to do all the household work.
Parents
Education was equal for boys and girls in India and the Netherlands. Almost all parents agree that woman have emancipated completely nowadays
Reflection
We all thought this project taught us a lot. We didn’t only learn about the differences between our grandparents and parents but also between India and the Netherlands. We all thought the interviewing went very well. The video conferences didn’t go as smooth as we thought it would because of the not so perfect connection but it was still fun. We all agreed that maybe we should divide the work a bit more because sometimes someone had to do a lot and the other one almost nothing so that could be improved by us.
