- In my parents family there were about 12-15 adult member form fathers as well as mothers side, so totally approx. 30 members.

- I lived with my sister and mom dad in the same house.

- Father was self-employed and he had his own retail business, mom was a home maker.

They were cool, but made a point that they knew all my friends, their backgrounds and made a perfect balance of being a parent as well as understanding my liberty as a teenager.

-Great reform by them pm Narsimha Rao and finance minsiter Manmohan Singh, and maruti Suzuki cars had just entered India market which was a huge success back then.

-Babri masjid riots. Lamented the fact that innocent Indians were being killed in the name of religion.
8. Did boys and girls have the same right to education at school?
When I was studying in school, both boys and girls had more or less the same right to education. However, it was generally thought that girls only need to get married so weren’t really pushed to study, while guys were.
9. Were there differences in the upbringing of boys and girls?
There weren’t many differences in the upbringing of a boy and girl. But when it came to going out at night, boys were free to go anywhere whenever they wished so, While girls weren’t allowed to go out unless they were accompanied by someone.

After collecting and analyzing the data the group could conclude that the parents interviewed did not face any discrimination on the basis of gender.
Both genders were treated equal and got equal rights to education. However, it is possible that this was so because all the parents interviewed came from well to do families which could imply better social awareness and equal treatment of boys and girls.
Gender related discrimination seems to have been more prevalent during the grandparents' childhood.
From this the group concludes that things are improving in the society with respect to gender equality. The youth of today are hopeful that with concerted efforts from all parts of society the issue of gender discrimination can be eradicated.

- The people interviewed by S.M Shetty witnessed more terror attacks and wars as compared to the people interviewed by Trinitas
- Women in Netherlands were expected to remain homemakers only, while the women in India were expected to get married at a very young age
